Rasterfeld is one persona of Finland's Tero Lindeman, a talented producer who also focuses heavily on thick downtempo and funky jams through the alias Blank Grid. This half of him, though, is concerned with exploring techno through unorthadox sounds and approaches. A major contributor to online music, Tero was involved with the demoscene of the early BBS and Internet days and, as such, brings a retro and playful sound with him to his current productions. Some Rasterfeld tracks focus on bouncy electro melodies and 80s percussion, reminding us of older times when we were all more naive. Others are strictly drums and a few samples, repetitive and loopy enough for DJs yet still containing a certain touch that keeps them fresh and original. Whichever direction he heads into, and he heads into several, Tero brings his unmistakeable style and infuses it into everything he touches.
